Family law
Divorce, children and maintenance matters, handled with discretion and care. We explain your options plainly and keep the process as calm as the law allows.
Family matters are personal, often painful and usually urgent for the people involved. We handle them with discretion and explain your options plainly, so that you can make decisions with a clear head.
Where children are involved, the law puts their best interests first, and so do we. Wherever it is possible, we work towards agreements that both parents can live with.
What we handle
Divorce
Uncontested divorces on a settlement agreement, and contested divorces where agreement cannot be reached.

Care, contact and guardianship arrangements, including parenting plans made an order of court.
Maintenance
Claims for child and spousal maintenance, and applications to increase or reduce existing orders.
Antenuptial contracts
Choosing the right marital regime and registering an antenuptial contract before the wedding.

Questions
What clients ask us.
How long does an uncontested divorce take?
Once the settlement agreement is signed, an uncontested divorce is usually finalised within a few weeks to a few months, depending on the court's roll.
What is an antenuptial contract?
It is an agreement signed before a notary before the wedding that sets out how your estates are treated during the marriage. Without one, you are married in community of property.
Can maintenance orders be changed?
Yes. Either party can apply to the maintenance court to vary an order when circumstances change significantly, for example a change in income.
